Itinerary
- Day 1 – Individual arrival in Passau
After your individual arrival for your cycling holiday check-in and you receive your travel documents. Handover of your rented bicycle for your bike tour takes place in our bike center. Example of hotel: Hotel Passauer Wolf**** in Passau - Day 2 – From Passau to Schlögener Schlinge/surroundings, approx. 50 km
On the Danube Cycle Path you cycle through the idyllic Upper Danube Valley downstream past Engelhartszell to the well-known Schlögener Schlinge. Example of hotel: Revita Hotel Kocher**** in St. Agatha - Day 3 – From Schlögener Schlinge/surroundings to Linz, approx. 45 km
Leaving forested hills behind and cycle through the fruitful region of the Eferdinger Becken to Linz, the capital of Upper Austria. Example of hotel: Courtyard by Marriott**** in Linz - Day 4 – From Linz to Grein/Bad Kreuzen, approx. 60 km
Do not miss a sightseeing tour in Linz before your bike tour continues in direction Strudengau. There is a lot to see along your cycle route: Enns, Austria’s oldest city, an untouched riparian meadowland and finally the lovely baroque town of Grein. Example of hotel: Wellness-Oasis Aumühle**** in Grein - Day 5 – From Grein/Bad Kreuzen to Wachau Valley, approx. 65 km, Boat trip from Melk to Spitz
Today you cycle through the impressive landscape of the Strudengau and Nibelungengau until you reach the Wachau Valley. During a boat trip from Melk to Spitz marvel at the picturesque villages and fortresses admits the wide stretched vineyards. Example of hotel: Steigenberger Avance Hotel and Spa**** in Krems - Day 6 – From Wachau Valley to Wien, approx. 45 km, train ride from Tulln to Vienna
Leave the Wachau with its impressive vineyards behind and cycle comfortably along the cycle path along the Danube to Tulln. From there you take a short train ride to Vienna. Immerse yourself in the metropolis and visit the world-famous sights such as Schönbrunn Palace, the Prater, the Ringstrasse or St. Stephen’s Cathedral. Details and cancellation
Parking possibilities during your cycle holiday along the Danube cycle path:
In Passau a carpark for your car during your cycle tour is at a parking garage.
Locked and covered parking garage: € 9,-/day
Parking garage with E-connection: € 10,-/day plus € 20,- charging fee
Locked but outdoor on a parking ground: € 6,-/day
(This carpark must be reserved prior your arrival of your cycling tour, payable on the spot)
Security for your booking
As a tour operator, the safety, well-being and health of our customers are top priorities for us. We are constantly monitoring the current situation and are in close contact with official authorities. In the event of travel changes, we will inform you immediately. If an official travel warning is issued on your arrival date for your destination or your home town, you can of course cancel your trip free of charge or change your booking to another date.
Note for people with limited mobility
The cycle tour is not suitable for people with limited mobility. However, in specific cases it is possible to accommodate individual customer requests (e.g. barrier-free room).
Passport and visa requirements
To check in to your hotel you will need a valid passport or ID card.
For citizens of countries outside the Schengen area other regulations may apply. You are responsible for obtaining any visa you may require in good time.
Terms and Conditions of Payment:
The deposit of 10% of the tour price is due at the latest 14 days after receipt of the booking confirmation. The balance must be paid 14 days before arrival.
Cancellation Policy:
According to our General Terms and Conditions, the customer may withdraw from the contract at any time in writing. In the event of cancellation or non-commencement of travel, the following cancellation fees will become payable:
50% of the tour price from 28th to 8th day before arrival date
70% of the tour price from 7th to 4th day before arrival date
90% of the tour price from 3rd day before arrival date to the day of arrival
If the customer makes changes to the booking (date of travel, tour, duration, transfer of the booking to another person etc.) up to 28 days before departure, for reasons which are outside our control, we will charge a processing fee of € 50,- per booking. After this date, the cancellation policy will apply. Such changes to a booking may only be made in individual cases and if possible; the customer has no right to any changes.

In case of a booking your announced data will be only used from https://cycle-danube.com/ for the process of bookings and related transactions and will be passed on only in the context of the contractual relationship to third parties. The combination of travel services offered to you is a package within the meaning of Directive (EU) 2015/2302.
This ensures that you will benefit from all EU rights applicable to packages.
Company https://cycle-danube.com/ will be fully responsible for the proper performance of the package as a whole.
Additionally, as required by law, the company cycle-danube.com has protection in place to refund your payments and, where transport is included in the package, to ensure your repatriation in the event that it becomes insolvent.
