Itinerary
Day 1 – Individual arrival in Passau The cycling holiday starts in Passau in Germany. After check-in, you receive the travel documents for your bike tour. Handover of your rented bike takes place in our bike center. Example of hotel: Hotel IBB Süd*** in Passau
Day 2 – From Passau to Schlögener Schlinge/surroundings, approx. 40 km You start your cycling tour along the Upper Danube Valley towards the Schlögener Schlinge. Do not miss a visit of the Monastery Engelszell, a Trappist cloister famous for its delicious liqueurs. Example of hotel:Gasthof Draxler*** in Niederranna
Day 3 – From Schlögener Schlinge/surroundings to Linz, approx. 55 km Leaving the forested hills behind you, cycle through the fruitful region of the „Eferdinger Becken“, to Linz, the capital of Upper Austria. In the evening, visit the great tourist attractions of Linz: the new Music Theatre, the Art Museum Lentos, Linz Castle, the Pöstlingberg and much more… Example of hotel: Hotel Prielmayerhof*** in Linz
Day 4 – From Linz to Grein/Bad Kreuzen, approx. 60 km Enjoy a city tour of Linz, before cycling through the flat Machland to the Strudengau before you finally reach the lovely baroque town of Grein. Example of hotel: Gasthof zur Zugbrücke*** in Bad Kreuzen
Day 5 – From Grein/Bad Kreuzen to Melk, approx. 50 km Along your bike tour past the picturesque villages of Grein, St. Nikola and Maria Taferl you can see already from a long distance the beautiful Melk Abbey in Lower Austria. The imposing monastery marks the beginning of the Wachau Valley. Take your time to get to know Austria’s most popular winegrowing region. Example of hotel: Hotel Wachauerhof*** in Melk
Day 6 – From Melk to Traismauer/surroundings approx. 60 km Enjoy cycling through the picturesque region of the Nibelungengau to the beautiful well-known Wachau Valley. Tip: Stop at one of the traditional wine taverns for delicious local specialties. Example of hotel: Gasthof zum Schwan*** in Traismauer
Day 7 – From Traismauer/surroundings to Vienna, approx. 65 km Your cycling route leads through the Tullner Feld, the garden town of Tulln and past the Klosterneuburg Monastery. The cycling path ends in Vienna, Austria’s capital, where a great variety of sights await you with magnificent buildings along the Ringstraße, Palace Schönbrunn, the Prater with its Giant Ferry Wheel and of course the traditional Viennese coffee houses. Day 8 – From Vienna to Bad Deutsch Altenburg/surroundings, approx. 40 km The National Park of the Danube meadows starts right at the access of Vienna, an idyllic landscape with a great variety of fauna and flora awaits you. Cycle past Castle Ort and Castle Eckartsau before you reach the spa resort Bad Deutsch Altenburg where already the Romans left their traces. Example of hotel: Hotel Stöckl*** in Bad Deutsch Altenburg
Day 9 – From Bad Deutsch Altenburg/surroundings to Bratislava, approx. 30 km The Danube flows embedded through the Hainburg Mountains and the small Karpaten. The Slovakian capital Bratislava enchants with its charming old town, many impressive buildings and its fascinating fortress high above the Danube. Example of hotel: Hotel Park Inn*** in Bratislava
Day 10 – From Bratislava via Schütt Island to Györ, approx. 50 km + train ride The Schütt Island is a paradise for birds and fish admits untouched landscape with small islands, idyllic farm villages and a labyrinth with side arms of the Danube. After a short train ride at the confluence of 3 Rivers you reach Györ with its beautiful old baroque town. Example of hotel: Hotel Ibis*** Györ
Day 11 – From Györ to Komarno/surroundings, approx. 60 km The National stud Bábolna is world famous for Arabian horses breeding. Through rolling hills of the agrarian area, return to the Danube to the parted town of Komarom, King Matthew favourite city. Example of hotel: Hotel Bow Garden*** in Komarno
Day 12 – From Komarno/surroundings to Donauknie (Danube bend) approx. 50 km Enjoy cycling along the waterfront of the Slovakian Danube on causeways and traffic low side roads through small farmer villages past the Roman castle of Kelematia. A true highlight of this bike route is the Bishop – and Emperor City Esztergom with Hungarian’s largest basilica. Example of hotel: Hotel Szent Adalbert*** in Esztergom
Day 13 – From Donauknie (Danube bend) to Budapest, approx. 60 km + boat trip Amidst rolling hills, the river parts and your cycle route leads through idyllic villages along Szentendre Island. Countless small handcraft shops and the open-air museum Skanzen made this picturesque town on the mainland world famous. Parking possibilities during your cycle holiday along the Danube cycle path:In Passau a carpark for your car during your cycle tour is at a parking garage.
Locked and covered parking garage: € 9,-/day
Parking garage with E-connection: € 10,-/day plus € 20,- charging fee
Locked but outdoor on a parking ground: € 6,-/day

If an official travel warning is issued on your arrival date for your destination or your home town, you can of course cancel your trip free of charge or change your booking to another date.Note for people with limited mobilityThe cycle tour is not suitable for people with limited mobility. However, in specific cases it is possible to accommodate individual customer requests (e.g. barrier-free room).Passport and visa requirementsTo check in to your hotel you will need a valid passport or ID card.

50% of the tour price from 28th to 8th day before arrival date
70% of the tour price from 7th to 4th day before arrival date
