Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1
Arrival in Vienna
After the tour information and bike handover, explore the imperial city by bike. Ride along the famous Ringstraße past the State Opera, Parliament, Burgtheater, and City Hall. Visit the impressive Hofburg Palace, stroll down Kärntner Straße, admire St. Stephen's Cathedral (Stephansdom), and meander through the quiet lanes of Vienna's enchanting old town.
Day 2
Vienna → Baden bei Wien ≈ 45 km
Begin on Vienna's Danube Island, where scenic bike paths lead to the stunning Schönbrunn Palace. Explore the palace and gardens at your own pace, then pedal onward to the charming Biedermeier spa town of Baden. Nestled in the Vienna Woods, Baden is where Beethoven completed his Ninth Symphony. Visit the elegant Casino Baden, the Römertherme, and the Art Deco Thermalstrandbad from 1926.
Day 3
Baden bei Wien → Rust / Mörbisch ≈ 55–60 km
Leave Baden along scenic routes as the landscape transforms around you. The atmosphere becomes spectacular at Europe's westernmost steppe lake, where the Leitha Mountains give way to the vast Hungarian Puszta. Explore the grand Esterházy Palace in Eisenstadt and the ancient Roman quarry in St. Margarethen. Cycle through rolling vineyards with breathtaking views over the lake, and savor the charming wine towns of Rust and Mörbisch.
Day 4
Excursion to Sopron (Hungary) ≈ 35–45 km
From the famed festival town of Mörbisch — with its atmospheric lakeside stage for the celebrated summer operetta festival — pedal through rolling vineyards near the Hungarian border. Arrive in the historic town of Sopron (Ödenburg), where a beautifully preserved old town with the Fire Tower, Trinity Column, and Ursuline Church awaits. Return to Mörbisch and Rust along a picturesque bike path with captivating lakeshore scenery.
Day 5
Rust / Mörbisch → Neusiedl / Jois ≈ 50 km
Begin with a ferry ride to Illmitz, then explore the unique National Park Neusiedler See–Seewinkel. Birdwatchers' observation decks rise as the only elevated points in the flat landscape. Discover the famous "Lacken" — shallow, salt-rich lakes about 50 cm deep that give the Seewinkel its distinctive flora and fauna. Pedal past wet meadows, grazing lands, and rolling vineyards along the scenic Lacken Cycle Path.
Day 6
Active Day of Rest
Relax and recharge with a variety of recreational options. The lake is a paradise for sailing, surfing, and swimming. Cyclists can enjoy the scenic Cherry Blossom Trail — a beautiful 45 km loop around the lake.
Day 7
Neusiedl / Jois → Bratislava (Slovakia) ≈ 65 km
Cycle through Rohrau, home to the birthplaces of Joseph and Michael Haydn, before reaching "Römerland Carnuntum." At the Heidentor, the Amber Road and the Limes Road intersect. In Petronell, explore the faithfully reconstructed Roman neighborhood at the open-air museum. The border town of Hainburg lies on the Danube, just a few kilometers from Bratislava. An evening stroll through Bratislava's charming old town is the perfect way to end the day.
Day 8

End of tour. Optional extra nights can be arranged. Return transfer from Bratislava to Vienna available every Saturday morning.
